The TRS8-B+C is a combined Type 1+2 AC Surge Protective Device(SPD) designed to provide both lightning current protection and surge protection in low-voltage power distribution systems. Using a hybrid MOV + GDT (gas discharge tube) architecture, it offers high discharge capability and excellent voltage protection for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.
With a 12.5 kA (10/350 µs) lightning impulse current, 30 kA nominal discharge current (8/20 µs), and 60 kA maximum discharge current, the TRS8-B+C is suitable for installations exposed to direct lightning energy as well as switching transients. Its low protection level (Up ≤ 1.5 kV) ensures effective limitation of overvoltages to safeguard downstream electrical equipment.
The device includes visual fault indication and supports optional remote signaling via potential-free changeover contacts, enabling monitoring through building management or control systems. Designed for DIN rail mounting, it is ideal for main distribution boards or sub-distribution panels.
