Which PoE surge protector should I choose for outdoor IP cameras?
Start with the IP68 TRSS-RJ45/8-E for an exposed installation. Then confirm the camera’s PoE requirements, network speed, cable connections and mounting conditions. The protector still needs the earthing and sealing arrangements specified in its installation instructions.
Do all RJ45 surge protectors support PoE?
Do not assume compatibility from the RJ45 connector alone. Check the protected pairs, operating voltage, allowable current and the PoE requirements of the equipment. The 4-line 100M models listed here need a compatibility check before use on a PoE link.
How do I choose between a single-port and a rack-mount model?
A single-port model suits an individual network connection; a DIN-rail version fits cabinet layouts. The 16- and 24-port rack models group multiple connections in a network cabinet. Select according to the number and location of the connections you need to protect.
Can I use these models with PoE+ or PoE++ equipment?
Send the equipment model, PoE standard and power requirement for confirmation. Compatibility should be checked for the exact protector version; a Gigabit rating or an 8-line design alone does not establish support for every PoE power level.
What information should I include in a quotation request?
