The TRS3-C40 is a dedicated Type 2 DC surge protective device engineered specifically for photovoltaic (PV) power systems.
Designed to protect DC strings and inverters from switching surges and indirect lightning effects, it delivers stable performance across a wide voltage range from 500 VDC up to 1500 VDC.
Its compact pluggable-module structure ensures easy replacement and reliable operation within modern solar installations.

Equipped with high-quality MOV-based protection components, the TRS3-C40 offers 20 kA nominal discharge current (8/20 μs) and 40 kA maximum discharge capability, providing strong defense against transient surges commonly seen in PV arrays.
With a low protection level—starting from ≤2.0 kV depending on voltage class—it helps maintain system integrity and extends inverter lifetime by keeping overvoltages well under control.

A red visual fault indicator provides instant status feedback, while optional potential-free remote signaling contacts allow integration with monitoring systems for real-time fault reporting.
Its IP20 enclosure and DIN-rail mounting design enable fast, secure installation inside combiner boxes, inverter cabinets, and DC distribution enclosures.
